Combines Dummy headIJ

Dummy head usually means a conventional ridgid header with no reel or reel drive, no knife or cutterbar or drives, but simply a pickup--finger, toothed or belt-- for picking up swathed crops. It may have a variable speed belt drive for the pickup, or a fully hydraulically driven pickup. Dummy head also refers to that dead weight above one's shoulders when stupid mistakes are made. Ask me how I know....Ben.

Usually a dummy head is a 13' head with just an auger. (no knife, reel, etc). But if the guy says its for edible beans its probably best described as a pickup head. A pickup header is a dummy head plus a draper pickup (5,6, or 7 rubber 18" belts with rubber fingers)

If ask, my mother in law would be proud to answer that question. It would involve some of my finer attributes...

my MIl loves me so much she overlooks my comments. Actually she retaliates by telling son in law jokes, of which she sez I am one
