Combines Dusty F n auto HHC

We have this auto height control on our F2. We are finding that it is very slow to respond when it is in the float position. It just doesn't seem to respond fast enough especially at faster ground speeds. We are running a 15' series 2 flex head. We have a new pump, belts good, oil filter and everything else is good. We do have a leaky valve stack. Have replaced o-rings - still drips. Is this normalIJ or can it be improved on.

check your linkages. One should be able, at high idle (disconnect the header drive chain, safety safety) you should be able to raise the header by hand by raising the end skid shoes. A sloppy under header linkage or a bound up upper linkage will cause too much pressure to have to be used to pull the cable and push down on the adj. rod and thus push down the pintle. Do this check, put a cresent wrench on the end where the cable goes and torque down on the front. You should be able to raise the header at almost the same rate as one can with the lever in the cab.

I have also found some flow controls in backwards where they slow the rate of raise but not the rate of lower!
