Use at least 5 concave channels, and make sure they're like new. Make sure cylinder bars are in good shape and straight across on top so you can get an even setting on the concaves. Shut the air off the cleaning fan down as much as you can, and open the chaffer wide enough (probably about 3_8" to 1_2") that what air is left is a gentle stream instead of a blast at the chaffer surface (venturi effect speeds up air as you restrict airflow by closing down the louvers). You'll be taking some trash on the bottom sieve, but should save most of the seed. Bottom sieve opening--start at about 1_4" open so the openings can scalp seed loose from trash. You'll probably find that you need to clean this sieve once or twice, but the seed should remain in the machine.
