My combine a 1991 1680 has just started doing this too, the voltmeter doesn't seem to be moving much but the buzzer is constantly faint. I first noticed it after washing the machine off, we have finnished for this year. I wonder if it is a poor connection near the hydro pump or engine bay. Might have a look at it tomorrow.

Now it has stopped doing it!!! Must have got a wet connection.

I run a 1660 that did the same. The boss (big guy) jumped on the foot and inch pedal 5 or 6 times and it stopped. Hasn't done it since. Just a thought, that's how my boss does many repairs.....teehee.
