Combines electrical problems

This is one of the toughest type problems to find but this is my suggestion. If it only does it while moving I think you have a short or bad light switch . Un plug All the lights above the cab and see if you still have voltage drop. We have added solinoid switch to power lights in some early R series and draw voltage straight from the power solinoid to a breaker then to the light solinoid, using the light switch as a trigger. The unloading problem would seem to be a bad coil or again a short. The coils stay energized longer to roll out the auger than any other function. Again a test is to bypass the wiring harness and run a wire first from the module to the out solinoid, and then to the master solinoid, and the guilty power hog should show up. Finally a bad ground on the cab will also cause this. The ground will arc as does a welder in a miniature fashion and will pull big power. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Check voltage at cab solinoid inside counsel. Check the one large post and then the other. Normal voltage drop across solinoid should not exceed .2 volt with lights ect. on. Could be voltage drop across master circuit breakers back by engine.

Thanks for the info. You all are a wealth of information. Told my friend with a red machine about this site but he said he doesn't have to Hyperize, Modify or Update. Thanks again, I'll check on that as soon as it rains. We're closing in on couple hundred acres to go.

We have some 2000 model 9650's with about 850 sep. to 1300 sep. hrs. and no problems of that nature yet.

The boss got us two 9750's for last fall's harvest. One went back to illinois, half way thru harvest. Just happened to be the one he sat in for a few acres, and it had all kinds of problems! First was fires everywhere and all the time! Blow it off, wash it off, pray for it, it would still smolder somewhere. Had it in the barnyard calibrating a brand new head for the AHC, the reel went up and stayed!! And with all the short beans we were gonna be in, that was not gonna work! The JD service man and I finally got it figured out! We switched a board outside the cab door, with the board in the other year 2000 9750 and the board was junk! From then on the "hot" combine went down hill, and finally back west to the dealer. And the 9650 STS they sent back over to us ran the rest of the season just great The other 9750 was awesome also, no problems!! It ran fine!

I am surprised that there is anybody WITHOUT electrical problems.
