Combines electronic engine

Your dealer needs to have a laptop with Cummins INSITE software. If they don't then you will need the Cummins dealer. If you can't read the fault codes you are just going to be pulling your hair out with a QSX_QSC engine.

Watch to see if rotary screen is plugging up when this bothers. I'm not sure if you will see heat showing up on temperature gauge before air temp from intercooler gets to warm. Try get errors to come up by turning key on without starting, turn right knob on tack and then left knob all within a couple seconds. If this doesn't work to bring up error codes try a few more times. If you can get an error to come up it will help troubleshoot. Good luck

Hey Ohio Farmboy, We had this EXACT same thing happen this year on our '03 R62. It is a problem with the tach unit in the column. It is a KNOWN problem! Contact the Caravan guys and they will give you a brand new tach no questions asked. In the meantime a temporary fix given to us from the caravan was to disconnect the pink wire in the harness at the bottom of the column. This seemed to help but wasn't a total solution until we got the new unit in. Email me if you have more questions on it:bhofen@cnbalva.com

clean your in line screens in your fuel lines. Sounds like it might be a fuel problem.

Any luck bringing up error code with tackIJ I have no training on QSC (I believe it was offered this summer at AGCO but that was bad timing). Cummins is quite good and handy around hear. I do have all books I could come up with and could follow error code. I can't make use of the numbers you come up with. I have heard that tack modules could goof with Cummins engine control module on the l10s or M11s and unhooking module could eliminate that. Maybe you could try as OKfarmer points out to eliminate that. Do you get a tone change from electric pump when you turn key on and let it run until it quits at around 1 minuteIJ I have heard of some fuel check valve coming loose and ending up in filter. I had one machine with bad splice of major currant feed within harness but that just caused engine to stumble from time to time. I'm afraid you better get someone from Cummins that knows these engines out if you can't narrow it down soon. Best of luck

the code that came up was for controller n2 which accordindg to cummins could be caused by the lift pump. They are known for having problems. they will pump enough to run without much load but they are starving injection pump with control valves on top and it will gualde control valves and not work freely. You can change just the top module with control valves in it. Thanks for all the help.
