Go with the Marlin elephant ears, aftermarket. Will improve feed and no more rumbling.

If you need to repair the elephant ears you should consider the auger front replacement that Stewart Steel in Canada is selling. The advantages of the AFX rotor without the cost. My guess is that the spiral front on the rotor would be an improvement in your heavy tough straw conditions.

Hello BB, I farm in North East England and got 20 threshing and 4 seperating bars for this season all I can say is what a difference, much cleaner samples and less rotor loss. Also Gorden bars are better value for money then genuine bars as one bar goes in the place of 2. Also a neighbour of mine has changed his elephant ears and he says that it takes much less power to drive the rotor than before. I went to see Jimmy Clark in July and after seeing his wireless concaves decided to put 2 large wire ones in for wheat instead of one, next year I may do all three, you can really push it on until the engine gives with low losses, as Jimmy said to me "you must get the grain out of the rotor as soon as possible" This year we managed to crack grains which we never did before, that is how hard you can thresh. Send me an email if you want to know more. Paul.
