We put the SS auger front kits in both our 1480 and 1482 combines last year. I very much wanted to try one on a std rotor, but both our std rotors died from 20+ years of tough field pea harvests, and started to shed rotor bar_bracket assys as the skin broke up from metal fatigue. We are near a dealer in a pinto bean area,so he had a pair of nice used spec rotors that were replaced by bean rotors for $500 each. The SS kit ran in the $1600-$1800 range. You need to pull the rotor atleast partially out of the combine,as it is very hard to tighten_torque the mounting bolts with the rotor end still inside the cone. Get ready for the smoothest feeding your AF combine has ever been.
