I agree with the first post. Now would be the time to switch to the auger type front. Here is a like to Stewart Steel the outfit that makes the conversion kit.

Yep. I've had the Axceller kit for the third year now, and no complaints at all. Very similar performance to AFX rotor.

We put the SS auger front kits in both our 1480 and 1482 combines last year. I very much wanted to try one on a std rotor,but both our std rotors died from 20+ years of tough field pea harvests,and started to shed rotor bar_bracket assys as the skin broke up from metal fatigue. We are near a dealer in a pinto bean area,so he had a pair of nice used spec rotors that were replaced by bean rotors for $500 each. The SS kit ran in the $1600-$1800 range. You need to pull the rotor atleast partially out of the combine,as it is very hard to tighten_torque the mounting bolts with the rotor end still inside the cone. Get ready for the smoothest feeding your AF combine has ever been. :)
