Silver, we speeded up our clean grain chain years ago on our l-2 but we did it to get the grain away faster in our hills in order to keep it from chokeing up . thought we only went one or two teeth faster(you'll have to do the math) the only problem we had was the shaft monitor stayed on because of running faster was told to play with the gap but we didn't mind it cause the buzzer still went off when it stopped wish I could give more help but it's been awhile. Clean grain on an R60 is 389 Rpms. let us know what you decide.

Elevator chains in 62's and 72's are running around 600+ rpms. Hope this helps! Kelly

I thought shaft monitors (TTIII) only came on when rpms dropped below the preset threshold. And I seem to recall the newer ones automatically recalculate that threshold when the monitor is shut off. Any clarification would be appreciated. Tom in MN

not sure about the recalibrating all I know is on our l-2 when we increased the rpm on the clean grain chain the tatal-tail monitor and light would come on, once the engine was at full throttle after a while the buzzer would go off but the light stayed on when the elevator choked up it would go off again to tell us it was slowing down. least that was how it was on ours. The circuit board can be calibrated for minimum rpm but I don't know about the max side. My cousin gets up there and does his thing and I run the grease gun. You might try cutting some ears off the collar.

My l2 clean grain shaft speed is 295RPM I've studied parts manuals etc. and it looks like all the correct sprockets are in place.I'm going to check some other combines clean grain RPM's and then make some sprockets. I'm in some 200bu corn today,I go so slow I have a lot of time to think about how to get the corn off the shoe faster and into the bin,but I still have to wait on semi's

What tells you the clean grain auger is going too slowIJ Is the slip clutch slippingIJ I have noticed worn elevator paddles or damage to the bottom of the divider in the clean grain elevator are also things to watch for. Tom in MN

I agree with Tom on this. Before I'd go through a lot of trouble trying to speed the clean grain up, I'd check for worn paddles, etc. Also, I'd think if you're running at capacity at the shoe, you might be close to capacity on the walkers as well. You might find out that you won't be able to gain much, if any, by speeding the clean grain up if you just start walking corn out the back. However, I DO believe you can increase capacity on the "l" series by speeding up the clean grain elevator when cutting high moisture (26%+) corn. Tom langan

True I may be at capacity on the shoe,walkers.When I'm running steady no grain in return, when turning on ends grain pours through return window.I've always had this.I've adjusted air splitter close and wide with same results.Maybe I'll make a super chaffer too, Thanks !
