Combines Engine Oil Seal

Yes you have to pull the engine but not clear out of the machine. It is not a bad job if you have a way of lifting up high. The seal if you are refering to the rear main seal, is a one piece job behind the flywheel. You will probably have to take the seal retainer and seal to a good machine shop to install the seal squarely in the retainer. Make sure you get the gasket that goes behind the retainer where it bolts to the block. Make sure you loosen the traction drive belts before you attempt this. If the crankshaft has a groove worn in it, the seal can be located in the retainer in a little deeper position so you have a good sealing surface.
