Combines enough blame to go around on the 8010

The teflon seals you refer to are widely used by everyone in the industry. They do last a long time but can be damaged easily when installed. The powershift transmissions use alot of them. Sometimes you don't know there is a problem until unit is in operation. In our shop we do the best we can and pressure test whenever possible before final assembly, however some assemblies don't allow any testing to be done until in the machine. We sold an 8010 last year and did have alot of mostly small problems in corn. After wheat harvest this last summer, the machine went in for the updates. My customer went through soybean and corn harvest this fall without us making any service calls. His major breakdown was a broken rotary air screen hub, which is the same as the 2388 uses, so we had one on hand and he was running in a very short time. This combine also has the original feeder chain in it and has not been a problem. The spreaders did not fall off. The straw chopper shaft has never broken and there has never been any kind of a fire. I know that there has been alot of problems on numerous machines out there, but some of them have also been performing pretty well. I have followed your experiences with your machine and I understand your frustation. Believe me, there were times last year where I felt the same way (except that I did not have the $ invested in it that you have). I am anxiously awaiting to hear what the company is going to do to address the issues that are still out there.
