Combines Estes disrupters on combines

The disrupters do work , but in my experience they chopped up dry straw so fine it would overload the left side of the machine, also I had quite a large amount of cob breakage ,so I discontinued using them . But they definately eliminate the rumble in green stem soybeans.

We use the disrupters instead of a chopper in wheat. Mounted all 9 of them in a staggered pattern on a keystock grate and put it in the rear position. The front two grates are slotted. We are not running any spiked bars, and it totally destroys all of the straw if it is dry. Does a better job than a 9610 chopper in all the conditions weve run across so far (the 9610 we cut with belongs to a custom cuttermaybe the knives are dullIJ) As for power consumption, I have no idea, but dont notice a problem.

I run disrupters and spike bars in wheat,soybeans,high moisture corn and dry corn and this works well in all of these. No change in power that I can tell. I starting using them because I was having trouble no till planting through soybean residue. This setup solved that problem. I also run Gorden bars.

Thanks for the help. One more question. Will the disrupters load up your seives more than nornal with straw an cause a problem.

My guess is that they would. We put in the air deflector at the same time we installed the disrupters, so it didn't cause us a problem. But, without the deflector, I bet you could have some trouble.

In manufacturing The Disrupter here at Estes Mfg. Co. our main concern was to stop rotor rumble in hard to feed crops. (Green stem Soy's) We did this by cutting up the crop in the rotor, thus having smaller pieces to discharge. Our advice to Mr. Booker would be to turn up your air in very dry conditions and _or remove the second row of Disrupter lugs or as many lugs as needed to solve your problem.This would also be true with corn. Having small cobs is not a problem if they do not overload your sieves, and yours is only one of a very few cases that this has happened. There are over 6000 sets of The Disrupter lugs in service and I think that your problem can be resolved and still be able to get the full benefit of The Disrupters. How do you install disrupters when you use solid grates

You don't have to remove The Disrupter lugs to remove the rotor, but it would be easier to just remove the grates. You can remove your grates easy and this will give you lots of room. Here at Estes Mfg. Co. we make two diferent styles of The Disrupter, one for keystock grates and a different design for the flat or solid grate.
