The farm has stayed in the family for 4 generations now and is surviving. Some family farms have incorporated....Some have formed l.l.C.'s......does this mean that now since they no longer have a family farm image, because they have taken it upon themselves to show a corporate and professional look, that they are an enemy of the "small" farmerIJ YOu are torked off at an image.....and you are torked off because it makes life as you know it harder. I can understand, and noone said it was going to be easy. But, you have the same opportunities that these corps have and the only thing you can do is make the best of a situation you feel is bad. I don't care if someone else looks at how well I use the gov't programs or not, but farmers have got to realize that the subsidies are nothing more than a process to keep food cheap in the US. At what point do you think that a limit is going to be set in DC to curb subsidies or to take acres out of production. Just for your info, the big feed users here in North Carolina with tax dollars are putting in a port facility in Wilmington,NC to import feed. This past year they brought over 3 ship loads of bean meal. So, at what point does the American farmer lose its ability to compete or have we already.

So your an idiot....That's ok. I'll hold your hand and walk you through. 1: It's not welfare.....welfare is a handout from the gov't for doing nothing! As a farmer to receive subsidy's or ldp's or reserve program payments you need to farm land....have commodity's in your name....or setaside acres into grass. All require great masses of money to accomplish to begin with. Unlike welfare recipients who hold out thier hand and here comes the food stamps, and medical card, and so on and so forth.....We have to start out with a major investment.....welfare getters need have nothing. So no....I'm not a welfare recipient......I'm a recipient of gov't programs to help.....unlike welfare where they keep people. 2: I am a caretaker of the land. I have waterways, and Terraces, which I maintain yearly. I use no-till practices to help save soil and in the last 2 years alone we have planted 3 different windbreaks. I save all my used oil in barrells and then deliver them to people I know who use them in their oil burning stoves during the winter. Don't tell me I'm not a caretaker and don't tell me that "noone" is there either....There are always a few bad apples to each basket.....To group us all in the same category is not only blind but ignorant. 3: Suing the ewg......Not for posting public imfo.....But for posting ONlY imfo on farmers, singling us out and trying to make us look bad. You have to do no more than run to the county seat, in your tax exempt vehicle, burning tax exempt fuel, to fill out a form to get tax payers $$$$. Well, if it is welfare then how much can you qualify forIJ You will have to update a little because I make it 2 in a million. As a matter of fact, I just went to the FSA office and signed up for a conservation program that helps offset some of the costs to convert to consevation tillage practices. I also use quite a bit of organic fertilizer on my operation. I have bought very little commercial fertilizer except for nitrogen. From reading your other statements, it is obvious that the enviroment is your higher authority and that is your choice, but leave us realistic people you have chosen a lifestyle that provides you with cheap food alone. And I WIll keep saying the old worn out phrase because people like you need to hear it every day SO SHUT UP AT THE THANKSGIVING TABlE AND DON'T TAlK WITH YOU MOUTH FUll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
