Darin, Can't remember if I mentioned that I had a customer that added reinforcements to the center tube and high enough to bolt a cylinder bar to.He then took thresher cylinder bars and shortened them to work as extended bars into discharge. He has run this set-up for two years with no problems and seems to be working fine.I like the extended bars as this helps bring material into discharge area better.Adding four discharge paddles works good also, and is probably easier for most to install.Which ever way you decide to go will work.Just make sure you do one or the other. Good luck, Hyper Harvest II

Hyper Harvest II Hey thanks for the information! I had not thought of doing it that way. I was looking into removing the paddle brackets all together and adding another flange so that I can just use another star to hold the extended bars. I'm not sure if this will work, but I want to look into it. I'm running four paddles now and I need to decide if this will gain me enough to warrant doing it. Thanks again!Darin

Darin, I beleive that addding another star to center tube for extending the cylinder bars would be benificial. Two things to remember, first make sure that cylinder bars end about 2"-3" from the end of processor.Second,I would still make this set up have four paddles of some sort to push material out of cage area into impeller or chopper.Food for thought. I know of a good Aussie friend who did this for he realy gets into this kind of stuff. I can't say how much it helped but I'm sure it didn't hurt. He's has that N7 powered up more like a hi horse R72. He has tremendous capacity but had problem with rotor loss in a couple crops as some others have when 13 bar concaves were installed. He and others tried many many things to reduce loss a bit but to make a long story short they installed a couple of them spike strips that used to be shiped with them machines and bang the problem was gone. They claim they can not tell the strips are in but excess loss is gone. These strips were known to blow cages before setting up cage to flow material good so install only if needed. Be sure to accuratly figure losses before coming to conclusion on loss. Good luck
