Combines extened bars into discharge

I just remodeled my rotor this year and had great success although I don't grow corn, it worked great on wheat, canola and flax. I took the good bars from the seperator side and put them to the threshing side putting the 3rd bar which only has the first 4 inches or so worn to the first position were the first few inches don't do any threshing. That takes care of the first two positions at no cost. For the seperator section ran the high_low set-up using my completely worn out bars and an assortment of next to new bars that I got from a wrecker. Then I discarded all of the discharge paddles and installed bars all the way across the discharge area. Increased capacity by 20% and cut rotor loss by 2_3!

Havn't used any Sunnybrook, loewen works fine and they have the full length bars as well as short cylinder bar and paddle combo. We run half full length and half short bar on many machines. Gleaners kit could be the most economical for they replace row A bars so you can use the old row A bars elsewhere. Half Gleaners kit and half the other guys kit would work if you want to go HI-low setup. You may want to size up and have rasp bar ready for belly. I don't think it will damage any crop but I would try run without if possible. Sweeps will take the place of four seperator bars and havn't found any crop they hurt in. They sure help keep the crop moving wheather it is because it is tough or because it is one of them crops you need to run low RPMs. You should be able to run sweeps with stationary rasp bar installed for sweeps run at the same diameter as the rasp bars. Sounds like 80stech has a nice setup also. Good luck
