Yes, works fine, prefer angle iron. Make SURE you tie belt back away from the drive sheave good. We always backed combine's chopper over a 55gal drum with a piece of plywood on top and unbolted. Almost perfect height. 6 bolts and little effort. We traded for a M2 once which had the back above the chopper on a hinge. Back raised up customer had fabricated a slide chute which attached to the chopper shield right under walker pan and let straw slide right out the back. Never saw it work but looked slick.
