Bill, are you sure the Feeder Beater will interchange from the F to the F2IJ I had the very last of the F's (76) and it had several F2 conversions from the factory on it and it was a real PAIN to get parts for. And the Feeder Beater was one of those items. Buy both parts books and cross reference the numbers. My F was 50% F and 50% F2 and I had to take the parts off and drop them on the counter and make sure they matched. It was 10 serial n's before the F2.

The internal parts of the feeder beater are different- finger holders and their bearings, but the assembly should interchange. Bill

We have old Gleaner F's and later Gleaner F's and also an F2. Most of these parts are interchangeable. For a few things like the cab and drive systems and a few other minor things like idlers and such, they are different in some cases. Shafts and bearings are 95% of the time interchangeable. Now on the feeder beater, the bearings may or may not be different (I think they are because the fingers are changed from 9_16" to 5_8") heavier on the F2. Also in 78' the F2 went to the longer back in turn changing length of walkers and sieves_chaffers and such. For the most part though the machines chains_sprockets_shafts_cylinders_concaves_choppers and such are the same. The improvements made on the F2 are nice (especially the cab!!!). If you give them the serial number they should be able to get you the right parts or you can interchange parts with older_newer machines in the junkyard. Good luck!
