Combines F rear beater

I removed the rear beater on my K after it wrapped up in beans and twisted the shoe drive shaft and caused a lot of other damage. The later models had a slip clutch on the beater. I found the same thing in many salvage yards- the beater removed. I have heard some came from the factory without the beater. I put a curtain in place where the beater was on mine to help stop grain from flying over top of the walkers.

My K came factory without that beater, it works just fine without it. I only combine corn and soybeans with it. I have been busy getting the l2 ready this fall and wondering if I should pull that beater out as well. I am all for making a simpler machine.

I have considered remove my beater in l also but not a easy job. Do you believe they were removed to reduce plugging problems I have seen many without but not the owners around to explain. thank you for any imput,
