run v.s. to fast speed - bottom pulley spread apart - shut off eng and place wooden wedge in lower sheaves to prevent them closing. Now release pressure on hose and loosen drawbolts to remove main clutch shaft pulley. RandR belt and reinstall via reverse process. Adjust so as lower sheave does not run on pegs at high speed and on the pegs on the upper main shaft at low speed. Notice the holes around the pegs. IF they are oval or egg shaped - the sheaves are worn. IF the lower shaft vibrates at high speed - the bearings are down. The belt should be just warm to the touch after runnign under load - if it is hot - you have a problem as to sheave to shaft wear and the belt will not last a day. IF everything is up to snuff it will run hundreds of hours.
