Per your first post--If you're throwing wheat over, you might consider shimming the last 2 channel irons so they set closer to the cylinder and give you a somewhat progressive wedge (usually, about 1_8" flat iron under them helps, or 1_8" under the 4th concave bar and 3_16" under the rear one, depending upon the relationship between the door and the cylinder). Also, make sure your channels are virtually brand new--not rounded over on the leading edge. Bean screens are manufactured by James Vorderstrasse of JandK sales at Hebron, Ne. As opposed to OEM, these have a metal framework, and won't fall apart on you. Priced reasonably, as well. Phone no. is (402) 365-4393 or email--jvord@hotmail.com--hope this helps some.

per your walker question.. I really have found that adjusting the walkers about 3_4 all the way forward on the long back F2's and F3's is about the best. The reason for being able to move them is to balance out the shoe load...in theory.. if you have too much load on shoe move the walkers forward (- :)-( job -) and vice versa.tj's tip on shimming channels works fine - my tip on the half rounds come from our area of soft red winter wheat - it is EASY to thresh... the reason we run the half rounds is all our crops are easy to thresh and the half rounds give us the ability to run higher cyl speeds thus more capacity without cracking grain. Keep in mind the halfrounds are not agressive enuf in some crops.... good luck
