Combines F2 Hydraulics

Wobble box will be warm but not hot. Test is to hold the blade bar in one hind while slowly rotating pulley with the other. No slop or free play allowed. Main problem area is lower pin_brg assy. Are the spools moving to end of strokeIJ One can tap on them if thay are stuck. The valves can be operated by hand by pushing hard on the linkage rod. Many times levers bottom or top out BEFORE the spool is activated, adjust at the setscrew on each link rod. Also the VS valve has a releif cartridge which is adjustable even though you have to get into the top of the spool to do so. You can deadhead a pressure gauge in the outlet after removing the hose on the top of the valve. I think about 500n on the reel speed and main relief on the reel raise. It actually take more pressure to raise the reel than the head if the springs are set up. Finally if the power fold auger valve is stuck trying to fold the auger in it will affect other functions and heat the oil.

It feels like the spools aren't moving at all. I will try manually loosening them by tapping, etc. The auger cylinder is fine, so I don't think that is it. We'll see what happens.... John

Is this the golden harvester edition, set up with electric controls like the f3.

No, I don't think so - the controls are manual; a linkage road from the lever to the valves.

Okay, I took the linkage rods off and sprayed around the rods where they enter the valve body, and tapped them lightly, worked them in and out. That seems to have mostly solved the problem, at least on the reel lift. I will continue to oil them from the outside to hopefully free them up more. The variable speed reel control still doesn't work right, but I will keep working with it. Are there return springs inside that can be worn outIJ Thanks for the help, John
