go with whatever you think is easiest for you. A new shaft and bearing which caused the problem will last a long time. The failure you experienced is very abnormal in that something besides shaft (yours is not bent about 99.9% positive) and bearing s hve to be replaced. What happens is the tremendous load on the shaft due to the auto tightening system will actually mash the metal from under the bearing on the input shaft right behind the splined area. If a vibration is felt at high variable, don't think it will get better, stop or run at low variable til it can be repaired. Replace the shaft with a new one and bearing and make sure it is loctited in place and it is a hard press fit ro the bearing has to be driven on via hammer and punch. The very last F3's had a larger input shaft akin to the M2_l2s.
