Combines F2 unloading auger

While I have not done this change, I can see no reason why it will not work. Since I read your post, I've been sitting here trying to decide which I had rather have. My first F2 had the old swing-out unloader. The one I have now is hydraulic. The old kind takes an extra minute to swing out and fasten. It was almost trouble free. The hydraulic one sure is handy, but when those swivel rings and balls get worn out, it can get expensive. There are about 130 balls at $1.25 or more per. The ring is well over $300. The worse thing that happened was that my unloading auger fell off the combine. The next time, my balls started to wad-up and the swivel chain broke. I really think I would keep the old style while everything is going good and maybe buy the hydraulic one and storing it for later use. This does not answer your question. It just got me to thinking. I'm still not sure which way I would go.

I beleve your earlier post about flipping the inner race 180 degrees has a lot of merrit. Is easy to do .. Good idea. Always drill and add grease zerks when off.

My F has the manual fold unloader, my K2 has power folding swivel auger. The only advantage to swivel is slightly higher discharge height. It has been expensive to maintain. Balls, ring, cylinder, chain all have been a failure at one time or another. An unloader on the ground parks a combine in season for entirely too long. I can turn so that manual auger is in field instead of fence row, and that folding by hand is only once, not every time I go to "hunt truck". Waiting for folding and unfolding every time is a time consuming operation. And I question folding running, that is just how I tore mine up.
