Combines F2 Variable Speed leak

Use a lot of locktite cleaner let dry then locktite it on . We used red. You would need heat to get it off the next time. Worked on a l combine. I think we went with the new black plastic type and not the older silver one that was on itIJ We have had a rotor combine for a very long time, and my memory is not what it used to be.

I think the problem he is trying to adress it the hydraulic swivel on his gear drive f-2's variable speed, the swivel connector that feeds oil to the hydraulic cylinder that adjusts the drive belt. hunter, I think what you are refering to is the brushholder that is part of the header clutch. l's and m's didn't have the same hydraulic swivel as a F2, they just had a ram that adjusted a yoke to move the outer sheave. this is similar to a F , but not an F2 We have experienced similar issues, and according to our parts book, there is a seal kit available, as well as the two sealed bearings. although it doesn't look like it, this swivel is actually serviceable. Good luck on getting the F2 to the field! they are great combines, and it is good to see them in the field.

Peteguy, Yes, you are correct. I should have posted back, but forgot. It is quite simple to service. Just unhook your hydraulic lines, take the 1 1_8" nut off, pull everything out of the back side of the nut. One o-ring, an umbrella seal, two sealed bearings and a bushing. Hasn't leaked a bit while cutting fescue so far. It was a lot simpler than I thought it'd be. Jared
