Try to find a used straw chopper for your F2 to replace the spreader. Everyone around here who runs a conventional combine of any brand uses a chopper in beans. Rarely see a spreader.
Put a chopper on it. Night and day difference. You won't have to worry about residue. Once you get it I can tell you what and how to upgrade it to spread as fine and as far as you want. A JD 105 chopper fits on as well with some modifications but it has to be slowed down, but these were less apt to plug, but if you keep the blades sharp and the sections not set to full chop you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck. Get rid of the spreader (a rotary sometimes doesn't need one, or if you run spiked tooth) and get a chopper and all the components it needs.
yes the chopper is a good idea, shouldn't be hard to find one. also , consider a chaff sreader, esp. if your bean residue is heavy. they are not that high or you can build one, disk blade, angle iron and a old hyd reel moteor off a old JD platform. good luck and happy cutting
I had an F-2 with a spreader and it did ok spreading bean stalks after I replaced the rubber on the spreader. This will wear down and will not be long enough to spread properly. You can take some old belting and make your own. That's what I did.
