YES, look for wobble in the hub the tabs bolt to or the magnet not being true. Also check the air gap; set as close as possible w_o rubbing. The straps broke because like a piece of wire bent many times ---
You too! Mine went out Sunday evening. In my case the bearings under the sheave behind the armature were also bad and messed up the shaft. Still waiting for parts out of KC warehouse. Oh well. After the beans then the corn. At least we have a crop this year.
I got the parts in, unfortunately I ordered the wrong magnet and armature (too small). The up side is that I now know that I have play in the shieve and I know what the shims are for. Thanks to the folks at this site for the help. Hope I can get back in the field next week.
