Do you have a boost gauge on the engineIJ Manifold pressure should be approx 23-25PSI. This is the easiest way to check load and HP on a F2-F3. IF the engine is not starving for fuel and is building HP check the cylinder bars. The leading edge edge should be sharp, not rounded. IF they have not been reversed try to reverse the bars. Finally, if you could borrow a gigantic 10 acre heat lamp.....

If your cylinder gages read right open it up to 5_8 or up to 3_4 if it shells ok. Do you have filler bars inIJ

I installed new trimpe wide space bars in my F3 this fall, set clearance at 3_4 used 3 concave channel bars placed at 1,3,5 position. Ran 234 bu corn at 2.5 mph. could have ran faster but I need to do the chaffer modification.

The engine boost guage runs between 20 and 23. There is a little black smoke so I assume that it isn't starving for fuel. The cylinder bars have been turned and are worn on both edges, and the filler bars are in. With the crop lodged as bad as it is, there is a larger volume of material being taken in, should the filler bars come outIJ

What is the chaffer modification you are talking about on the F2-F3IJ I have an F2 and I have terrible problem with corn going over the shoe if I go a little too fast. In places had to go in low gear and a turtle could beat me to the other end of the field. Corn chaffer is installed. I am at my wits end. Would side hill blower helpIJ Thinking of moving up to an l2.

Go to hyper mods on the topics bar to the left of this window and scroll down till you see chaffer, click on that and it will explain everything. Also if corn is high moisture there is not much you can do but if the corn is dry try decreasing air flow across chaffer and then finally change cylinder settings till you find that you have very little trash coming out across the chaffer. The book I have recommends running the fan choke at 5-7 in corn and soybeans but I've set it as low as 2 with good results. My opinion, Part-time
