if I undrstand your question correctly, the gain on the Smartrac lateral tilt can be increased by holding both the 'c' and 'l' buttons at the same time for three seconds, key on clutches on. It will then flash alt led lights ; hhc and lat tilt. Press the lat tilt switch to the left and it will flash the the setting . Turn the top tilt knob clockwise to increase gain the position of the knob as indicated by no. of flashes will range from a low of one to a high of 8 (too much). Turn off clutches to store new setting. IF one doesn't have lat tilt, the rate of raise and rate of lower flow rates, manually adjusted, are the 'gain' for the raise and lower.
