Yes, this has been a common problem for us. The chain is too long and runs too fast. They redesigned it for the later R52's. I have seen many different types of fixes. We finally stopped the problem after loosing two shafts. We put a self-aligning bearing on the fan shaft, outside of the double sprockets. This bearing is held in place by two pieces of 1_4 iron that are bolted to the combine frame. We also added a piece to the top of the tightner block so that the chain can't jump off the block. The chain always ran off for us when we were turning around, usually in corn stalks. Good luck.
