Farm machinery maintenance

Proper maintenance is vital because farm machinery is expensive, and breakdowns don't make the situation any better. How often do you do a walk-around to check for signs of wear and tear? There could be leaking fluids, cracks in belts and horses as well as worn tracks or tyres. Are all electrical systems fully operational (including headlights) or are all nuts and bolts secure (so that parts don't come loose?).

All depends on the equipment. My old air compressor, I never check. My old small disc, only check it once a year. The stuff with engines I'll check oil and fluids when I refuel. You never know when an oil pressure gauge might stop working and you can score a cylinder or warp a block pretty damn quickly without oil in there. Gotta take care of your engines.
