"Amber Waves of Grain" staring Dennis Weaver. It was about a custom harvester in the early seventies. Hope this helps.

"Yellow Trail from Texas" has the custom cutter with the MF combines back in the '70s. Shot for the BBC, I think.

"Two thousand mile harvest" is a video production by a British company and they followed Scott Payne (custom cutter from Imperial Nebraska) during harvest 1997.He ran 10 JD 9600's I think,it was my inspiration to come over for harvest in 2002 and had a great time!!

I know the one you are talking about it stars Wayne Rogers he was in the early M.A.S.H. series it was filmed in Alberta Canada but I can't remeber the name.

I posted further down about a movie that starred Wayne Rogers but I didn't know the name well with a little searching on google I found the title it was called "American Harvest" it debut on CBS in January of 1987. There is one more movie someone else had posted it "Amber Waves" starring Dennis Weaver just a side note on this movie Kurt Russel was also in it he was about 16 I think both are good movies about the harvest.

I remember watching "Amber Waves" and felt something was wrong with the wheat cutting scenes. Then I realized that they were just cutting stubble. They hid it well with camera angles. Either harvest was already done, or no-one would let them mess around in their fields.

I know this movie isn't about custom cutters and isn't really a movie but rather a documentry. "The farmers wife" is about 6.5hrs long and is a great documentry. It was shown on PBS a few years back and can be bought on Amazon. It should be shown on every city school. Take care, Nathan

The name of the movie w_ Wayne Rogers in it was called "American Harvest". Very good movie.
