Hey deereman, I remember you from over at the farmphoto.com site. I'm from SE NC and most of the really large farms are east of I-95. Mainly NE part of the state in blacklands region as someone mentioned earlier. Those counties include Tyrell, Perquimans, and Pasquotank counties. In eastern Nc there are many large cotton and tobacco farms. Those are Sampson, Johnston, Harnett,Jones, lenior, Onslow, Duplin, Wayne, Cumberland, Scotland and Robeson where I live and other counties as well. Peanut farms are in Bertie, Northhampton, Gates, Martin, and Chowan counties. That's also the blackland region. Peanuts are also gronw down here in Bladen and Columbus counties. If you are ever around Charlotte check out around the Monroe area, there are some large operations. I know of one farm around Monroe that is running around 13,000 acres. Here's an NC county map, this should help you out a little. http:__quickfacts.census.gov_qfd_maps_north_carolina_map.html lance
