With the greener and greener crops we might find we what chains closer to floor when empty. Then with top stops all the way up and shocks installed you forget about them between crops. loewen has the shocks for them older machines and I would strongly recommend installing in rear location if not front also. We have had to allow chains to just clear floor when empty for years in small grains. Especially if you have tailings return to rethresh system. It is tough to get crop flowing over tailings that ends up in feeder when machine is allowed to run empty if you have drums locked up. Good luck
