You'll want all six springs. You can shim it by putting washers in the holes ahead of the springs, but if you put too much you'll wind up tear out the slip clutch. You could also try raising up the feeder beater more or adding the header hose mod you don't already have it. It work's great for a more consistant flow into the machine. Good luck, Part-time

The shims are needed to obtain a specified clearance. your manual should tell you the clearance. check to see if it is in specification if not add or remove. you can make these or buy them at the dealer.If it is in spec you may need to put in new clutch jaws. The four spring set up is normal and should be ok if the jaws are new and the clutch is set correctly.

I have the hose mod. Its a pvc pipe that has an outside diameter of 3 inches and is bolted to the head behind the sickle.

Remove the clutch and the sprocket. You will find the bearing lock collar really eat up. Replace the lock collar and and the brass bushing in the sprocket if necessary. Add washers or shims between the brass bushing and the lock collar to the point where the clutch will not slip with no springs in it. Then remove enough so as to slip freely. 4 springs will probably be enough. If the chain breaks remove another shim. It really does little good to shim the springs individually, it is the shims behind the spkt that is the key.

i'd do like Tbran said,but get the shims from your Agco dealer,and I would use all 6 springs.The dimension is in the operators manual.

It's been over 15 years since I combined beans with a l2 but I believe I used a larger sprocket on the drive sprocket off the cylinder to speed up the feeder beater. Slowing the cylinder also slows the beater so a larger drive sprocket compensates for the speed drop. The parts book should show the different sprocket suggestions.
