Combines Feeder chain connector broke

You can get any repair link you want for them chains. No reason to replace whole thing. You can likely take twist out of chain by inserting pry bar and twist back. Might want to address things that cause excess chain pressure. Rock sump, helicals, reverse bars, ect. if your finding excess chain problems. Good luck

I think if I understand correctly some of the problems with the chain come from the newer than N series slat not being strong enough and bending. When they bend it runs the chain at a slight angle causing chain failures. If you have a bent slat be sure to get it changed out. The new combines have a slat similiar to the N series years. Much stronger and wont bend as easy.

NDDan, I think I got a faulty connector, I've never had trouble with feed chain before. No rock sump, heilcals are shimmed out 1_4", no reverse bars on sunnybrook gen 2 rotor. I posted to get a feel if others had broke a connector for no apparent reason. Partsman told me I could get the cross bar attaching link with a roller on each end, that would require a lot of connector links and I don't want to go that way. I already ordered a side chain so will swap it out or at least replace damaged portion of chain. later......Orm
