First you need to check and note length of tention springs. Adjust up evenly to a hair over 5". If chain has allready seft tentioned to end of slot you need to remove half links. A bearing that is out on one side or the other will give this problem also. It has been normal over time for left side to wear a bit faster than right. This is caused by slighting more load on left caused by header offset (my opinion is that is slight cause). More of the cause is the first three helicals dump straw right back on left side of feed chain concave area. Extending the third helical accross feed will help plenty. The other thing you can do is install steep pitch helicals on thresher side. The latest thing we have been doing is cut away second and third helical far enough to hook a piece of steep pitch helical in. That way the second helical dumps onto feeder filler where third helical used to and the third helical dumps onto seperator grate. We cut away enough of the old fourth helical to make room for the steep pitch. Now the only helical that drops back into feeder is the first one and that just handles a handfull of straw. There are not any chain supports between rear tention drum and drive sprockets. They used to have guides a long time ago but are not necessary. Wouldn't hurt you to weld on a couple pieces of 3"X3" flat iron at back of feeder to guide straw by the square corners just before rock door. Hump on trap door should also reduce load on feed chain. Good luck with your project.
