Combines Feeder chain replacement

There are 2 separate situations you are looking at. The first is when to replace feeder chains. I have no idea what to look for. The second is right up my alley as I had trouble with cog jumping. The solution for me was to loosen all slat mounting bolts, roll the chain over by hand a few turns, and retighten bolts. This will reorient the slats with chains. Some dealers in other areas have jigs to do this but I havent run into one in my area yet. This may be only a temporary solution if your chains or sprockets are worn out. Tom in MN

Irv, Feeder chains should be replaced when one set of half links have been removed and chain has been operated long enough to have adjusting bolts touch square blocks.Even though you may have two sets of half links do not remove the second set.Rear chain normally wears out before front do to faster running speed.Black Ace offers a split sprocket design if sprockets are in need of replacement.Price is around $155_sprocket.
