Sometimes the whole chain will slip to one side on the top of the feederhouse on the hex shaft. If this happens loosen up the square head bolts on the top sprockets and pry or cuss them over to the other side, your chain may be getting caught on the tabs that hold the door on the top of the feederhouse. Running on a hillside will do strange things also.

Also check where the rams hook up under the front axle, there are two u shaped brackets under there, if those holes are egg shaped, that will throw the feederhouse into all kinds of strange shapes, had to rebuild mine.
