Combines Feeder House plug

Howdy Dar, I have to ask if you are running the shock kit or not. It will make a vast difference in the feederhouse. Secondly, what head are you running, I have a 816 on my R-42 and the big auger is lightyears better then the previous models. Remember that the only way to have a smooth flow is if it is even up front. As far as greasing the clutch, only one shot every other week. I double up the springs on mine and has worked great eversince. You also might want to lenghten your front chain to put drum closer to head. Just a couple of things to consider.

We run a 1996 model R52 with 520 flex head. It didn't have the shock kit on when we bought it last fall. Ran soybeans without it last fall. Added the shock kit before wheat harvest. That helped a bunch. If you recently started having this problem Check the keyway on the jackshaft. Our key backed out and spun on the shaft. Caught it just in time. Otherwise even feeding is the key. Just my experience.

If it is a '92 you should look into switching to faster feeder house pulley. Have clutch tore down and tuned up for it may of spun a thousand times over the years. Clutches are very good and will last very good but eventially springs will break and clutch gets weak. We would fill clutch with springs and don't believe you can overgrease. Be sure there are no chunks of iron welded onto the bottom of square tube just in front of front feed sprockets. If you have corn head varible be sure front set of sheaves have proper gap between them. Also be sure right front feed belt is tighten to specs or a little more and is on fast pulley. look at right rear belt tentioner and be sure that idler arm is not touching or close to the anti-swing iron that is welded to pivot. Make sure rear feed chain is tentioned properly and if it has the small springs we switch to the longer heavier ones that are used on '93 and newer machines. We use grain position on drum stops for all crops. Does you machine have the floor that separates top of bottom of front feedIJ Some '92s don't have floor. Be sure header is converted properly for the small machine and do whatever you need to feed evenly. Also be sure feed chain slats are not worn rounded to bad for they will not keep ahold of or grab straw well. I think that about does it. Good luck
