Combines Feeder House Problems

Nothing you can do unless you get a force feed manchester feederhouse chain. It's a combination of the extremely dry straw and the short height. It happened to me today cutting as well. Couple suggestions that do help though. Try getting as much straw with the head in that short stuff as you can without playing bulldozer. Secondly, raise your reels so they are just batting the heads and increase your reel speed so it throws them into the platform. Not going to solve the problem, just helps a bit. At least did for me this evening cutting. It just boils down to......we need Rain!

Someone may have taken too many links out of your feeder chain. If its near the top of the slot, add back a link bringing the chain nearer to the auger. Its amazing the difference 1 1_2 inches will make.

the answer to your feeding problems in light wheat is add flight extensions to the centre of your auger. works every time. then take them off in heavy wheat as you don't need them

Thanks for the replys, the chains good tho, first year we have had a problem in the 7 years we have owned it, we have tried cuttin low and high, fast and slow, sometimes it works, sometimes it dont I guess its the dry straw, the wheat is is goin 59 to 60 lbs, cant complain, good crops for no rain and no snow!!
