Combines Feeder Stops Running

let me guess....early 1990's machineIJ If so, there is a square plastic box that you access by taking off the outside panel on the right side of the cab. It is tied to the switch under the seat. When it goes bad, the machine acts like you left the operators seat. It can do it often, or maybe just every few days. Totally unpredictable. Mike

I tried everything I could think of to hot wire it....never got it to work. I looked at the parts book on line and the 1666 is different than the 1680. I would guess you need the Control Block for the Automatic Feeder Cutoff, PN 1983214C1.

We had our 1688 do this, the feeder would engage for a few seconds and quit. Ours had the automatic feeder cut out on it (option IJ) I talked to a case mechanic and the box can be eliminated by unhooking the harness at the box and connecting it to the harness that comes out of it. If I remember correctly, worked for us. Talk to your mechanic to get the correct routing of the wiring to by-pass it. This is located in the panel on the right side of the cab.

I think my 1688 operators manual has the instructions on how to wire around the feeder shut off. Craig

That would be a nice fix. On the 1680 the box just has pigtials coming out of it, no harness. I tried to use a voltmeter and short out different connections, but nothing worked. Bypassing the automatic feeder cutout control box is definitely where I would start!

Changed the time delay breaker . So far so good . Have not run it for too long yet . Today will be the test . Also ran a wire so if it does act up I can hot wire the circut . Joe
