If this combine is equipped with a rock trap you might want to check out the drive sprocket and driven sprocket. Compare the sprockets between the 2188's and make sure the same combination is being used on both machines. The best working combo is 20 tooth driver on the top shaft of the feeder housing and 32 driven on the rock trap beater shaft.

Does this combine have the automatic feeder cut-off system turned off and the other one turn-onIJ You can turn this function on and off in the cab display in the A-post. It is accessed while in one of the calibration modes, it is in the operators manual. Had a 1600 series without the auto cut-off system and would smoke a clutch in no time.
