Combines Feeding Powder dry corn

We assembled a 12-20 head for this harvest out of JD row units for our R62 and had similar problems until we made sure that we had rubber flaps (tire tread strips which covered the full length of the tube without flighting. Just weld a piece of angle iron to the tube to support the rubber flaps. Maybe divide the uncovered length into three different sections instead of a single flap. Seems to work fine now! We also now run the auger with the reel circuit to allow variable speed on the auger. How is the corn doing on your side of the countyIJ

I had narrowed an 830 to 822 so I had a fair amount of left over flighting. I believe I have it all used up now from extending flighting to a center line on all these heads. I believe there was talk earlier on 1230s that have center auger support and the guys had to install some sort of belting that was strong enough to kick cobs in. You'll install belting just like paddles are installed on augers hear and there to prevent throwing cobs forward as much as possible. Guys really like the cover over feeder to prevent throwing out an odd cob. Good luck
