We've allways run chains on slow but am going to start running on fast to see if we can get by without installing feed chain stripper. Hate having stripper in for any crop other than for corn so would like to leave them out for good. Don't like the way strippers can screw up feeding in some other crops. Also thing that for higher speed harvesting the faster the feed chain the more likely the cobs will enter cylinder rolling. We've left drum stops in grain position for corn ever sinse installing shock kits. We have to use grain positions for most crops that run tailings return so feeding will continue after tailings have emptied out into feeder when crop was no longer coming in. The better the accelerator rolls the less throwover when running empty. I think it is impossible to run rolls untill metal is showing if you want to do a good job in most crops. Running chaffer more open and clean a little more with sieve should limit throwover on ends. Don't take any fast corners and keep machine reving until machine empties out should help and I bet converting chaffer to super chaffer with individial adjustable front few louvers will also help. I would replace spirals on at least one row to see if that is your pushover problem and then maybe rebuilt or replace the rest if that is the answer.
