Combines finally got one

congrats!! i to am an old gleaner operator that switched over to red power, i still love them old gleaners, but i also love sittin (well i did) in my 1440 with a tight cab and air cond!! and even a radio!! and having a combine that would eat about anything without plugging up!! i have to go get another combine somewhere today so i can finish my crop, and will be looking for another red one. but i did drive my old gleaner out of the trees..(if worst comes to worst)..lol. i think you'll like your red machine too!! and these guys on this forum really has helped me alot, everyone is great!! thanks ya'll!!

I also am a previous Gleaner owner. I went from a l2 to a 1688. There was a vast capacity increase. The three things I miss are the cab being centered,variable speed corn head,and the way the head latches on. But the pluses definatly outweigh the minuses,I think you'll like it. Parts are a lot cheaper and a big thanks to the people that have helped me on this chat room! Good luck CW

My sympathy on your combine. We talked in an earlier post about your starting problem. My machine didn't make it through the year either. Engine blew and the whole machine went up in flames. My shorts are still stuck to the seat because I jumped out of the cab so fast.

Went from several F's to an F2 and then now to a 1660 Case-IH. Oh man, night and day difference. The Gleaners did a good job and are easy to work on, but so far, the 1660 has been flawless and is just amazing once you get it set right! What a dream machine! I love it!
