Brodale, I have found that in HM corn you will most of the time get more fines because I believe that the kernel of corn is easier to break during the thrashing process. It you look a little closer the fines are just part of the tip of the kernel when removed off of the cob. You will also notice that you simply have almost no bees-wings in your sampleIJIJ Have you ever tried to shell HM corn by handIJ It is harder to do and this is why I think you receive more fines. looking at your combine settings....I think you are right on the money with it...with the exception of the concave I think should be closer to 1.5 to 2.
