What hp are the R55's running atIJ After just updating our '93 R52 with high wire concave, 3_4" cyl. bars, and new helicals, we made a round to try the beans Thur. afternoon. Stems were green and juicy, beans still 15%. With tough conditions like that, she sure seemed hungry - not one bit of rumble. We're running a 15' 800 series, but I'm sure a 20' would work just fine. When we bought this machine used, the Cummins was very sluggish. We sent the pump to Midwest Diesel for tweaking, and I think he set it at 230 hp. We highly reccomend Midwest Diesel for anyone who has a doggy Cummins - they really woke up the sleeping beast!

I hope you are wrong about the production of the R55 because there are still a few of us farmers that have trouble justifing a larger combine. I have an R42 now and that's all the machine I need for the acres I farm. I still have about 12 to 15 years to go before I get that monthly check from Uncle Sam so I would think I'll need another combine sometime down the road. The 42 is a 1993 and in great condition but machines don't last forever(although Gleaners come close).
