According to my Blue book the first year was 1971. Don't know about the tranny or V-8. My neighbor had the 47th or 470th 760 built, he can't remeber which one. He told me his IH 1480 that he traded the 760 for was the first combine he had that would go an entire day without breaking down. Probably the way it goes for such an early 760.
