Combines flex head auger

I guess you could bolt them, but I prefer to weld to the flighting. I dont weld any thing to the tube, only a verticle weld. Dont try to get it all at one time.........try a little bit at a time and spread it out over the entire auger. I like to balance it when it is cool out and the auger has not been in the sunlight. I often did it late at night and then would go back early in the morning and add the last pound or two. I have added up to 30 lbs to an auger. I have been balancing augers for over 20 years, it often gets over looked. They are doing a small amount at the factory now. I dont think they do a great job, but it is better. To do a good job on a new header you must remove and modify all of the finger guides. I think the factory balnces a stripped down auger. I have smoothed many headers and also beleive that I have increased wobble box life doing this. A lot of interest was put into the weights on the shaft and on the wobble box itself.........I think the uneven load on the drive chain was transfered to the wobble box drive and increased failures. Be sure to clean the center of the auger and be sure nothing else is binding if you want to do a good job. Van
