We ran a 550 until last year. had a 16 foot bean head with a love floating cutter bar. It worked fine although we did not have the automatic header height control...just watched it close and ran it manually..got along real well that way...you should be ok with a flex head..if the hydraulics seem slow you should check the control under the hood by the engine. There is an adjustment for how fast it drops...if it raises slow you may have to look at the hydraulic pump...we ended up replacing ours...that is better than rebuilding which we tried and did'nt help..have been told since that rebuilding them often doesnt work well....hope this helps
